A Mac-based route for Spotify
Play a track in Spotify on your Mac. SoundFerry receives the Mac output and sends it to the selected HomePods. Keep the Mac awake and connected during playback.
For a single HomePod, the Mac’s built-in AirPlay output may be all you need. SoundFerry adds saved output groups and audio processing for listening through multiple compatible outputs.
Make the first connection
Set up each HomePod in the Home app and make it available on the same local network as the Mac. Check its speaker access settings, then select the outputs discovered in SoundFerry. If you use a stereo pair, check how it appears and plays before adding other rooms.
Start at a moderate volume and listen near adjoining rooms. Use the available speaker timing adjustments if you hear an offset.

Install and complete initial setup
Follow the installer and setup guide, including the audio driver, required runtime and Mac restart.

Choose SoundFerry as the Mac output
Open System Settings → Sound → Output and choose SoundFerry. In players with their own output setting, select the system output or SoundFerry.

Select your speakers and start streaming
Choose the available compatible outputs in SoundFerry. Complete pairing if prompted, then start playback.

Save the rooms you use together
Adjust the volume and timing while listening, then save your selection as a group.

Questions
Does this change Spotify or HomePod settings?
SoundFerry supplies a Mac audio route. Continue to use Spotify for music selection and the Home app for HomePod configuration. Select the Mac in Spotify when you want its audio to pass through SoundFerry.
Can I adjust the timing between speakers?
SoundFerry provides a delay control for each speaker to help align playback. The result depends on the speakers and network. Use the trial to check your saved groups in the rooms where you listen.
How much delay is there?
Audio reaches the speakers a few seconds after it plays on your Mac. SoundFerry is designed for music listening; instrument monitoring, games and calls need a faster response. For video, check whether your player can compensate for audio delay.
