A familiar listening setup, with more control
Adjust the tonal balance of music, podcasts and other audio routed through SoundFerry. The Sound tab brings EQ, dynamics and effects together, so you can keep using your preferred player.
Start with a familiar recording and make small changes. Listen at a comfortable volume and allow the streaming buffer to catch up before adjusting again.
Choose the controls you need
- Parametric EQ: adjust selected frequency ranges with 12 bands.
- Dynamics and limiting: manage level changes and peaks.
- Stereo width, delay and reverb: explore a different presentation when it suits the recording.
- Metering: monitor the processed signal as you listen.
Presets offer starting points. The result depends on the recording, speaker settings and room; an effect is a creative choice, not an automatic sound-quality improvement.
From your Mac to the selected speakers
Select SoundFerry as the Mac output, choose compatible network speakers and start streaming. Audio routed to that output passes through the selected sound settings before transmission.
Sound settings apply to the selected output group. Speaker timing can be adjusted separately. For device-specific tone controls, see the EQ guide.
Questions
What can I adjust with the sound controls?
Use EQ to change the bass, midrange and treble, dynamics to control level changes, and reverb to add ambience. These controls process the audio sent to your selected speaker group.
How much delay is there?
Audio reaches the speakers a few seconds after it plays on your Mac. SoundFerry is designed for music listening; instrument monitoring, games and calls need a faster response. For video, check whether your player can compensate for audio delay.
What do I need?
macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon, compatible AirPlay or Google Cast speakers on the same network, and administrator authentication to install the driver. The distributed PKG is for Apple Silicon.
