How SoundFerry applies EQ
SoundFerry processes the audio before sending it to the selected outputs. Its EQ and effects are shared across that selection; it does not provide a separate EQ curve for each speaker.
This describes the current app, not a limitation of what AirPlay or other audio software can achieve. Per-speaker synchronization delay is a separate control.
When one room needs a different sound
Check the speaker or receiver manual for tone controls or room adjustment features. Available controls depend on the model, firmware and playback mode.
Begin by comparing speaker placement and volume. If the device offers its own EQ, make small changes there while leaving the shared SoundFerry settings neutral. This makes it easier to hear the effect of each adjustment.
Use groups for different listening occasions
Save a selection for your desk, another for the living room, or a wider selection for music around the house. Choose the speakers for the occasion, then adjust the sound to suit what you are listening to.
For a room-specific EQ during simultaneous playback, confirm that the receiving device supports the controls you need.
Questions
Can I set a different EQ per speaker?
SoundFerry applies EQ to the group as a whole. It provides per-speaker delay adjustment, but does not provide a separate EQ for each speaker.
Can I adjust the timing between speakers?
SoundFerry provides a delay control for each speaker to help align playback. The result depends on the speakers and network. Use the trial to check your saved groups in the rooms where you listen.
What do I need?
macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon, compatible AirPlay or Google Cast speakers on the same network, and administrator authentication to install the driver. The distributed PKG is for Apple Silicon.
