Published September 19, 2026. AirPlay 1 receivers, such as the first-generation AirPort Express, are no longer offered. Such a receiver fixes its playback timing the moment a stream starts and cannot be adjusted afterwards, and it starts at a different point every time it reconnects, so its delay could never be aligned with your other speakers. AirPlay 2 speakers and Google Cast are unaffected. This release also recovers a speaker that silently drops out of a stream, keeps audio intact if the app is launched twice, fixes reconnections that took longer than the app allowed, and stops the volume jumping to maximum on launch.
