Play music on multiple speakers with the Music app
The Music app on Mac includes controls for playing through multiple AirPlay speakers. Start with this built-in option when your music plays in Music.
Use the Music app\u2019s AirPlay control
Open Music, click its AirPlay button and select the speakers you want to use. The app provides volume controls for the selected outputs. Follow Apple’s AirPlay instructions for your software version.
This speaker selection is separate from Control Centre’s system audio output. It can include compatible AirPlay speakers from different brands. Check the model’s AirPlay support and network setup.
When a system-audio route is useful
SoundFerry offers another route for audio playing on the Mac, including Spotify and browser audio. It adds saved speaker groups and outgoing audio processing. Choose it when those controls are useful for your listening, rather than adding software just to duplicate Music’s speaker selection.
When using SoundFerry with Music, send playback to the Mac output instead of selecting remote speakers directly inside Music.

Do I need SoundFerry to play Music on several speakers?
No. Use Music’s built-in AirPlay selection if it meets your needs. SoundFerry is an additional option for Mac output routing and audio processing.
Can I adjust the timing between speakers?
SoundFerry provides a delay control for each speaker to help align playback. The result depends on the speakers and network. Use the trial to check your saved groups in the rooms where you listen.
How much delay is there?
Audio reaches the speakers a few seconds after it plays on your Mac. SoundFerry is designed for music listening; instrument monitoring, games and calls need a faster response. For video, check whether your player can compensate for audio delay.
