Why your Mac AirPlay menu selects one speaker
The place you choose speakers matters. Distinguish the system output menu from Music’s AirPlay controls, then check discovery if a speaker is missing.
The menu allows one selection
Mac Control Centre does not select multiple AirPlay speakers. Music has its own AirPlay menu with multiple-speaker selection. This is a difference between those controls, not evidence that every other Mac app is limited in the same way. Apple’s instructions.
A speaker is missing from the list
Check that it is powered on, supports the required output format and is reachable on the local network. Also check speaker access settings and any Local Network permission requested by the sending app. A missing destination needs a discovery check before a grouping change.
You want the same rooms for different apps
SoundFerry routes Mac output to selected compatible speakers. Choose it as the system output, select your speakers and save the group. Players with independent output settings may need to be pointed at SoundFerry too.
Speakers connect but playback differs
If one speaker stops or the rooms sound offset, test each output separately. Check network stability and use SoundFerry’s per-speaker timing controls where needed. Avoid assuming that a connection problem and a one-selection menu have the same cause.

Should I use a Multi-Output Device instead?
Audio MIDI Setup can combine audio devices available in its list. Check that list and Apple’s instructions for your setup; it is a separate feature from Music’s AirPlay menu.
Can I adjust the timing between speakers?

How much delay is there?
