Audio route
Check the Sonos model
AirPlay support depends on the Sonos product. Use Sonos’s current compatibility list to check yours. Sonos also supports grouping an AirPlay-compatible product with other Sonos products in the same system.
An indirect Sonos group is a different route from selecting each output directly. Test its volume and timing alongside your HomePod before saving the setup.
Choose your playback route
The Music app can send its playback to multiple compatible AirPlay speakers, including supported third-party models. For Mac system audio, SoundFerry provides a speaker selection that you can use while switching between players.
Continue using the Home and Sonos apps for device setup and configuration. SoundFerry supplies the audio from the Mac.
Balance the rooms by listening
Start with a familiar track at moderate volume. Speaker size, placement and room acoustics affect perceived loudness, so set the levels by listening rather than matching slider positions. Adjust speaker timing where needed.
Set up playback

Install and complete initial setup
Follow the installer and setup guide, including the audio driver, required runtime and Mac restart.

Choose SoundFerry as the Mac output
Open System Settings → Sound → Output and choose SoundFerry. In players with their own output setting, select the system output or SoundFerry.

Select your speakers and start streaming
Choose the available compatible outputs in SoundFerry. Complete pairing if prompted, then start playback.

Save the rooms you use together
Adjust the volume and timing while listening, then save your selection as a group.

Questions
Does every Sonos speaker appear directly?
Only products offering a compatible network output can appear as direct destinations. Check Sonos’s AirPlay list and its grouping instructions for other products.
Can I adjust the timing between speakers?
SoundFerry provides a delay control for each speaker to help align playback. The result depends on the speakers and network. Use the trial to check your saved groups in the rooms where you listen.
How much delay is there?
Audio reaches the speakers a few seconds after it plays on your Mac. SoundFerry is designed for music listening; instrument monitoring, games and calls need a faster response. For video, check whether your player can compensate for audio delay.
